Moulton cross country: Kittens continue on to state

The Moulton Kittens cross-country have qualified for this week’s UIL state meet as a team with a third-place finish, scoring 55 points.Ava Olivarez was the top finisher with No. 15 in 14 minutes, 28.33 seconds. Addisyn Grieve was No. 37 with 15:40.92, followed by Karsyn Blahuta in 15:43.71.

The Moulton Kittens varsity won the district title at the district meet Saturday and advance to the regional meet.Varsity GirlsThe Kittens scored 16 points to thoroughly win the varsity girls race.Ava Olivarez won the race with a time of 14 minutes, 30.

Moulton cross country: Kittens place second in 1A-2A girls varsity at Shiner meet

The cross-country runners took part in the Shiner meet Saturday at Green-Dickson Park with the varsity girls finishing high.Varsity Girls (1A-2A 2 miles)The Kittens scored 53 points to place second in the 1A-2A division.Ava Olivarez led Moulton with ninth place in 14 minutes, 22.36 seconds.

Moulton cross country: Varsity harriers run at McNeil meet

The Moulton varsity cross-country teams competed in the Round Round McNeil Invitational meet last week.Varsity Girls (1A-3A)The Kittens placed No. 42 with 1,067 points.Ava Olivarez was the top runner with No. 143 in 14 minutes, 18.7 seconds. Addisyn Greive was No. 242 in 15:26.

MISD hosts Patriot’s Day Ceremony

The Moulton Independent School District hosted a Patriot’s Day ceremony on Sept. 11 at the school flagpole.Many people from the Moulton Police Department and the Moulton Volunteer Fire Department showed up and paid their respects to the men and women who died on the day of Sept. 11, 2001.

Moulton cross country:Kittens place runner up in 1A-2A varsity girls at home meet

The Moulton cross-country runners performed at home Saturday in the Moulton meet.Varsity GirlsThe Kittens placed second in the Varsity Girls 1A-2A division with 32 points.Ava Olivarez led Moulton with fifth place in 14 minutes, 18.47 seconds and a pace of 7:09. Karsyn Blahuta was seventh in 14:28.

The Moulton cross-country teams competed in the Shiner meet on Thursday afternoon.Varsity Girls (1A-2A)The Kittens took first place in the 1A-2A division, scoring 18 points and getting four runners in the top 10.Ava Olivarez took first in 14 minutes, 44.

MISD approves cell phone ban policy

The Moulton Independent School District board approved the district cell phone policy at a recent school board meeting.This comes after Governor Greg Abbott signed a state law on June 20 of this year banning personal communication devices.
