Five Lady Comanche softball players won spots on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association 2A All-State Team.Senior Lauren Springfield was chosen as Second-Team Pitcher and senior Kloe Polasek was selected as Second-Team Designated Hitter/Designated Player/Flex.

Former Shiner ISD athletic director, head football coach, head softball coach and head baseball coach Steven Cerny will be inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Hall of Honor on Saturday at the Grand Ballroom of the George R.
Shiner grad and Sam Houston State baseball standout Ryan Peterson was selected in the MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins organization this past weekend, marking the start of his professional career. Shiner 2023 graduate and Sam Houston University junior (2025-2026) RHP (Right-Handed Pitcher) Ryan Peterson will be playing professional baseball.Peterson was selected by the Miami Marlins with 71st (Competitive Balance Round B) overall selection of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft on Saturday.

The Shiner ISD Basketball Camp was hosted by head coaches Jeff Akin and Kristi Peterson. The kids worked on fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, passing and working as a team while competing and playing games.
