Shiner volleyball: Shiner 3, Rice Consolidated 0

The Lady Comanches volleyball team used the non-district match against Rice Consolidated to work on some new wrinkles. The wrinkles worked as Shiner swept the Lady Raiders 25-9, 25-13, 25-13 on Friday afternoon at home.

Shiner football: Shiner adapts to unexpected Rice D to win 34-15

The Rice Consolidated defense came out with a different look than what the Comanches were expecting and it caused Shiner some early grief.

The Shiner volleyball team had nerves at times against Edna but got the job done.Shiner beat the Cowgirls in five games (25-15, 19-25, 25-16, 24-26, 15-12) in the first home match of the season on Aug. 26.

Shiner football: Shiner ends three years of frustation with 39-7 victory over Hallettsville

Quincy Jones rushed for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass as Shiner defeated Hallettsville 39-7 Friday night in Hallettsville to halt a three-game skid.The Comanches, who had not beaten the Brahmas since 2021, led 25-0 at halftime and outscored Hallettsville 14-7 in the second half.
