Shiner volleyball: LC win first home district match

The Shiner volleyball team made very quick work of Ganado in the first set. The Lady Comanches did have a little more work to do in the second and third sets as Ganado took some momentum, just not enough as Shiner rolled to a 25-5, 25-14, 25-12 sweep on Friday in a district home match.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals drop district matches to PC, Sacred Heart

St. Paul Lady Cardinals hosted Pflugerville Concordia on Sept. 19 and was at Sacred Heart on Thursday, losing both contests. PC 3, St. Paul 0 Pflugerville Concordia’s offense was different and more potent than  St. Paul had faced in its first five district matches.

St. Paul football: Cards hold off Geneva 49-43

St. Paul had three backs each rush for over 100 yards as the Cardinals held off Boerne Geneva 49-43 Friday in Boerne. Nate Boedeker led with 193 yards on 21 carries and three touchdowns.  Sam Perez rushed a dozen times for 126 yards and caught a 6-yard touchdown pass.

Shiner football: Shiner falls to Ganado in district opener

The Comanches’ attempt to get their ship sailing in the right direction continued Friday in the 15-2A opener against Ganado. The Indians scored two touchdowns in each half and held Shiner to one score in a 28-6 decision.

Shiner ISD discusses Senate Bill 763

Shiner ISD board directors discussed how Senate Bill 763 will impact the district when they met Monday, Sept. 18, and the got update on the 2023 bond project work. Senate Bill 763 allows Texas schools to use safety funds on unlicensed chaplains to fulfill needed counseling roles on school campuses.
