Shiner football: Shiner adapts to unexpected Rice D to win 34-15

The Rice Consolidated defense came out with a different look than what the Comanches were expecting and it caused Shiner some early grief.

Shiner volleyball: Shiner gets five-set win over Cowgirls

The Shiner volleyball team had nerves at times against Edna but got the job done.Shiner beat the Cowgirls in five games (25-15, 19-25, 25-16, 24-26, 15-12) in the first home match of the season on Aug. 26.

Shiner football: Shiner ends three years of frustation with 39-7 victory over Hallettsville

Quincy Jones rushed for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass as Shiner defeated Hallettsville 39-7 Friday night in Hallettsville to halt a three-game skid.The Comanches, who had not beaten the Brahmas since 2021, led 25-0 at halftime and outscored Hallettsville 14-7 in the second half.

St. Paul football: St. Paul overcomes turnovers to edge KIPP 10-8

St. Paul overcame several turnovers and lots of team speed as they  held off Sunnyside KIPP, 10-8, Saturday night at Comanche Stadium.The Cardinals committed four total turnovers: three lost fumbles and one interception.
