Migl, LBs shut out Cobras, 6-0
Lady Brahma pitcher Emily Migl is obviously on a mission.
Migl (9-2)pitched a three-hitter and Macie Jansky homered in the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ 6-0 win over Industrial in a District 28-AAA game here Friday night.
Migl recorded 10 strikeouts and did not allow a runner past second base in tossing the gem. She retired 16 of the final 17 batters she faced plus went 3-for-3 at the plate.
Migl, who has now thrown 20 consecutive shut-out innings, lowered her district ERA to 0.33 in district and season ERA to 1.25.
The win was the 13th in a row for the Lady Brahmas who moved to 19-3 and 8-0
Macie Jansky got Hallettsville on the board in the second inning when she deposited a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence. She finished the day 2-for-2 with two RBI.
The Lady Brahmas scored two runs in both the third and fourth innings.
Migl singled with one out and scored on a base hit by Kaylie Olivarez. Carson Jansky reached on a fielder’s choice. Macie Jansky hit a two-out single to score Carson Jansky.
Courtney Woytek hit a one-out single in the fourth and came across on a Migl double. Kaylie Olivarez followed with another double to drive in the final run.
Hanna Zachary’s leadoff triple led to the Lady Brahmas’ final run. She scored on a sacrifice fly by Macie Jansky, who collected three RBI in the game.
Woytek and Olivarez also had a multi-hit game.
Hallettsville had to rally to defeat Industrial 10-6 in Vanderbilt March 8 with all the Cobras’ runs unearned.
