Lavaca County Extension Education Assoc. members attend Spring meeting

Ten members of the Lavaca Extension Association attended the Annual District 11 Spring Meeting held in La- Grange on March 29.

Georgie Herman led the invocation prior to lunch and also provided a formal invitation to the membership for the Fall and Spring meetings this next year, which will be held in Hallettsville.

Mary Jo Prince from Texas AgriLife Extension’s Passenger Safety program provided an educational presentation on Distracted Driving.

Five members had six entries entered in the Cultural Arts competition. Of those, four entries are advancing to state in Lubbock in September: an afghan by Mary Cargile; a water color by Barbara Janak; an art piece made of beads by Donna Coldeway; and a quilt by Dorothy Rother.

Dorothy Rother’s quilt was also voted by those in attendance as the “People’s Choice.”

Other members who attended the District meeting were Nola Bohuslav, Dorothy Henke, Sophie Cernik, Judy Grones, Dorothy Olsovsky, and Mickey Schulte.
