Alfonso Vargas

Alfonso Vargas, 65, of Hallettsville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
He was born in Waelder on Sept. 6, 1956, to Joe and Amelia Martinez Vargas.
He was a USMC Veteran, serving his country from 1976-1979.
On Aug. 29, 1992, he married Juanita Perez at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.
Left to cherish Alfonso’s memories are his wife, Juanita Vargas; two daughters; his parents, five sisters, three brothers, one sister-in-law, six grandchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his father, Joe Vargas; brothers, Alfred and Valente Vargas; grandparents, Sebastian and Matilde Martinez, and Juan and Louisa Vargas.
Visitation began at 1 p.m. Rosary was recited at 2 p.m. and Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Msgr. John Peters officiated.
Burial followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
