YCH 100-year celebration May 12-14

The Yoakum Community Hospital (YCH) will host various events to celebrate a century of local healthcare from Thursday, May 12, until Saturday, May 14.

The festivities begin Thursday evening with the opening of a YCH exhibit at 6:30 p.m. with live music from John Wayne Schulz and food provided by Callisto Culinary. The new four-room exhibit showcases tools, equipment, and other historical items that display the hospital’s history.

On Friday, the celebration continues at 10 a.m. with the dedication of an oak tree donated by the YCH Auxillary (also referred to as the Pink Ladies).

Saturday’s schedule of events begins with a golf tournament at the Yoakum Municipal Golf Course; registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the tournament an hour later.

The milestone 100-year celebration concludes on Saturday night with an Evening Celebration at the Yoakum Community Center. Doors open for the cocktail hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and special guest speakers from the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH), Texas Hospital Association (THA), and the Community Hospital Corporation (CHC).
