    The Shiner Lady Comanches track team won the Region IV-2A title April 28-29 at Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Comanches finished runner up in the team standings.
    Both squads had several athletes qualify for the state meet in Austin.
    The boys had Doug Brooks earn a regional individual championship in shot put and discus.
    Top two finishers in each event go on to state.
    Girls
    The Lady Comanches claimed the IV-2A title with 83 points to beat out Mason (71).
    200 — Prelims: 6th, Rylee Vancura, 27.14; 13th, Lauren Faldyn, 28.48. Finals: 5th, Vancura, 27.00.

    Shiner state TF schedule
    Dalton Brooks will compete in the long jump at 9 a.m. Chesney Machacek will go in the high jump at 11:30; Doug Brooks will throw discus at 11:30 and shot put at 2 p.m. The Lady Comanches 400-meter relay team will run at 5; Riley Rainosek will run the 800 at 5:20. The Lady Comanches 800 relay team will compete at 6:40. Tyler Bishop will run the 300 hurdles at 7:35; Dalton Brooks will run in the 200 at 7:55 and the Lady Comanches 1600 relay will go at 8:45.
