American Legion Post 230 to host Memorial Day ceremony

The American Legion Hudgeons Post 230 and its Auxiliary will conduct its annual Memorial Day ceremony at the American Legion Hall in Hallettsville Monday. Fallen veterans of Lavaca County as well as all other veterans from throughout the United States, who gave their lives for our country’s freedom will be honored during the ceremonies. Speaker for the ceremony will be former county judge Tramer Woytek. Doors will open at the hall at 10:30 a.m. with the program starting at 11 a.m. “The remembrance ceremony is the first one to be conducted in the last two years,” American Legion Post 230 commander Terry Landrum said. “The ceremony is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. It is greatly appreciated.” Landrum said in clarification the program hosted by the American Legion Post 230 is in addition to any other activities held on Monday, May 30.
