Student at Shiner Catholic School headed to nationals for junior high rodeo finals

Shiner Catholic School freshman Audrey Thibodeaux of Shiner became the new Texas Junior High Rodeo
Finals and State Pole Bending Champion at the state finals held last month at Gonzales’ J.B. Wells Park,
Arena and Expo Center.

Next up, Audrey and her horse Pixie will be galloping full speed for Perry, Ga., the week of
June 19-25 to see if they can bring home the title at nationals.

In addition to claiming the state title in pole bending, Audrey also competed in several other events—barrels, girls’ breakaway and girls’ goat
tying—she is currently ranked the fourth best girls’ points leader in all of Texas, boasting an overall score of 39.00.

Congratulations, Audrey, on winning state. Just know that there are many in your hometown who wish you the best at nationals, and eargerly await your return home. Ride hard, and show them what Shiner girls are made of.
