Cindy Burke

Cindy Burke of Houston, passed away from a brief illness on July 20, 2022, at the age of 57, surrounded by her family.  

She was born on Jan. 11, 1965, to Frankie Joe and Barbara Supak of Gonzales. 

Cindy is survived by her loving children, Michelle Turek and husband, Michael of Shiner, and Christina Matula and husband, Brian of Houston; two siblings, Sharon Stevens and husband, Scott, and Joey Supak. Cindy has four grandchildren,  Jackson, Lilee, Cam, and Casen; two nieces, Paige Baros and Maddie West, and one nephew, Brayden Supak. 

Cindy knew no stranger, always looking out for others and with a smile on her face. Many may remember Cindy from her tenure at Kloesel’s Steakhouse in Moulton, where she worked for many years serving others. 

 Some of her favorite activities included being outside, cooking for her friends and family, spending time with her children and grandchildren, taking care of her cat, Priscilla, being called Meme, and watching 20/20 or the latest crime documentary.

Cindy was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Pallbearers for the service were Brian Matula, Michael Turek, Scott Stevens, Brice Baros, Roy Tovar, and Ralph Schacherl. 

Visitation for Cindy began at 2 p.m. and Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 22 at Smith Funeral Home in Moulton. 

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 23 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton with Father Gabriel Maison officiating.  

Burial followed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Moulton.
