In December of 1968, she began employment at Renger Memorial Hospital as a bookkeeper and continued at the Lavaca Medical Center becoming both bookkeeper and business office manager.
She retired on March 28, 2002, after 33 years of service to the medical field.
Janice lived a faithful life serving her God. Being a lifelong member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, she took roles within the church teaching Sunday School, elected treasurer and council member for 15 years, member of the choir at Zion Lutheran Church, WELCA member and participating in group bible study, and president of the Witting Cemetery Association for many years.
Janice recognized a failing eyesight, but regardless kept her faith in God. She continued to live for him through no matter the health setback. She overcame numerous health hiccups, but always prevailed to continue on and press through the bad.
Janice loved her family, and her grandchildren were the love of her life. She loved to walk through her pastures to check on the cows and down the gravel road listening to the birds sing in the environment God had blessed her with. She’d look at up the various clouds during the day and the stars at night of the amazing sight. Even though at times these were difficult things to see, she now has the best seat in the house.
