Shiner Volleyball: Shiner Volleyball Tournament Aug. 12-13

    The Shiner Lady Comanche 2022 varsity volleyball tournament starts on Friday (Aug. 12) with pool play and wraps up on Saturday (Aug. 13) with bracket play.
    Teams competing are — Pool A: Flatonia, Gonzales, Hallettsville, Stockdale; Pool B: Shiner, Edna, Hallettsville Sacred Heart, Yoakum.
    Friday, Aug. 12 schedule: Pool A play: Gonzales vs Hallettsville, 8 am; Flatonia vs Stockdale, 9; Stockdale vs Gonzales, 10; Hallettsville vs Flatonia, 11; Stockdale vs Hallettsville, 12 pm; Flatonia vs Gonzales. 1.
    Pool B: Edna, vs Sacred Heart, 2; Shiner vs Yoakum, 3; Yoakum vs Edna, 4; Sacred Heart vs Shiner, 5; Yoakum vs Sacred Heart, 6; Shiner vs Edna, 7.
    Pool matches will be two out of three, to 25 points, cap at 30. Pool placing will be determined by the following: win/loss record (matches won vs matches lost); head to head; winning percentage (sets won vs sets lost); coin toss.
    Saturday, Aug. 12 schedule: Bracket play — Purple Bracket: semifinal, 8 am; semifinal 9; consolation, 10; championship, 11. Gold Bracket: semifinal, 12 pm; semifinal, 1; consolation, 2; championship, 3.
