YHS Bulldog Band Color Guard

This Saturday the Yoakum High School (YHS) Color Guard performed at Tuloso-Midway High School for Solo and Ensemble Contests.The judge was impressed by each performer.

Yoakum High School (YHS) student athletes participated in the State Track Meet May 14 in Austin.In the Girls 200 Meter Dash, YHS 12th grader Jayla Hessler placed fourth with a time of 25.03.In the Boys 200 Meter Dash, YHS 11th grader Kennan Dilworth placed eighth with a time of 21.97.

Heartbreak of heartbreaks; Tribe loses 1-0 in state semifinals

ARLINGTON – The Sacred Heart Indians’ hopes of copping back-toback state championships were ruined by Brazosport Christian in the TAPPS Division IV state semifinals in a 1-0 loss at Clay Goud Field Thursday afternoon.

Indianettes make it three in a row

ARLINGTON –The University of Texas at Arlington has been very good to the Indianettes.Sacred Heart won its third-straight TAPPS Division IV championship in workmanlike fashion, defeating St. Paul 12-2 in the semifinals and Crowley Nazarene Academy 15-0 in the finals.In the St.

Shiner softball: LCs win regional championship with 8-2, 13-5 sweep of Burton

YOAKUM — The Lady Comanches captured the regional title with an 8-2, 13-5 sweep of Burton Thursday in Yoakum.“I think we did amazing in this series and really set the bar high,” center fielder/short stop Hailey Radicke said.

St. Paul baseball: Fogle signs with McClennan Community College

St. Paul baseball senior CJ Fogle has spent years working on his game to try to play college ball.His work and accomplishments paid off as he will play at McLennan Community College in Waco.Fogle  signed with McClennan   in a ceremony on April 27 at St.

Shiner track and field: Shiner boys win sprint-relay race

The Shiner Comanches 400-meter relay team of Caleb Cowan, Clayton Fric, Tyler Harvey and Quincy Jones won the 2A state title with a time of 42.51 seconds, edging out Ozona who finished in 42.55. Cowan, Harvey, Fric and Jones made comprised the 800-relay team that was third with 1:28.30.

Moulton track and field: Ja’Michael Williams wins high jump, Audrey Swinford gets silver in discus to lead track and field at state

The Moulton track and field teams won three overall medals in the 1A division of the UIL state track and field meet on Saturday.GirlsThe Kittens tied for No. 22 with 10 points. Audrey Swinford was second in the discus with a long throw of 122 feet, 11 inches. She also threw 120-7, 112-8 and  71-8.
