Canadian Juvenile admits to YISD threats

    Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agents identified the suspect today who made threats against Yoakum High School on August 29 and 30. The suspect is a juvenile from Alberta, Canada. Law enforcement authorities made contact with the juvenile and parents in Canada today, and the suspect admitted to making both threats. The suspect has no connections to the community other than through social media accounts. Criminal charges will be pursued.

    There is no threat to our students, campuses, or community. Yoakum ISD would like to send a sincere thank you to the DPS Special Agents, FBI, Victoria County Sheriff’s Department, and Yoakum Police Department who worked to solve this case and ensure our safety. Thank you to our community as well for your understanding and patience as we worked through this situation.
