Agnes Kouba Roznovsky

Agnes Kouba Roznovsky, 86, of Hallettsville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022.

She was born in Moulton  on June 13, 1936  to Jim and Bessie Simper Kouba.

On July 12, 1954, she married Judge Wilbert “Peanut” Roznovsky Sr. in Moulton.

She was a member of Catholic Daughters of Americas, Lavaca County VFW Auxiliary, Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

Anyone who ever met Agnes could never forget her, she was truly one of a kind.  While working at the Sacred Heart Federal Credit Union, she was extremely sympathetic to anyone who came to her, not just for a loan, but if you needed someone to talk to, or advice, she knew exactly what to say to make you feel better.  Many members of the credit union came to her with financial difficulties, she would do what she could for them, but if they did not qualify for a loan she would reach into her wallet and give them cash so that their families would have food to eat.  She loved people and was a very good judge of character, which was a huge attribute in successfully managing the credit union for over 40 years.

Agnes’s employees were a part of her family.  She made sure everyone was happy and no one ever worked hungry, she brought kolaches almost every morning. That little twinkle in her eyes was a sign she was up to something mischievous.

Agnes enjoyed a good laugh and of course, her dry sense of humor would always shine through.

Agnes will be truly missed by her family and friends. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

Agnes is survived by two sons, Wilbert Roznovsky Jr. (Trish) and Danny Roznovsky (Stephanie); daughter Laurie Janak (Andrew); 10 grandchildren, Matt Roznovsky, Taylor Roznovsky, Lissa Jacob, Davis Roznovsky, Nicholas Roznovsky, Kevin Roznovsky, Amanda Ellis, Jessica Ma, Joseph Janak, Calen Janak; and 13 great-grandchildren.
