Yoakum football: Bulldogs to try for first win of season against Sandcrabs
Yoakum heads to the coast to meet Port Lavaca Calhoun.
Both teams are 0-3 and come Saturday morning, one will be 1-3.
The Sandcrabs were buried by Stafford 35-7 in their opener, and have come up short in close games the last two weeks, 30-24 to Randle Richmond and 17-10 to Sinton.
After a close lost to Industrial 25-20 to start the year, Yoakum fell in a tough loss at Cameron Yoe 62-8 and lost 75-6 to a very stout Cuero team in the DeWitt County rivalry game.
Calhoun had 688 rushing yards on the season and averages 229 yards a game.
Jayce Campos has been the primary ball carrier with 217 yards and one touchdown.
Campos has also thrown for 99 yards on 6-of-17 passing , one touchdown and two interceptions.
On the defensive side for the Sandcrabs, Edgar Munoz has 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and 10 assists. C. Judd has contributed four sacks on the year.
