Patricia Brown, 73, of Shiner, completed her work on earth Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday, September 9 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bryan Heyer officiating.
Burial followed at Shiner Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, Yoakum.
Pallbearers were Robbie Burton, Wesley Brown, Kenny Siegel, Michael Migl, Randy Berger, Patrick Opela and Patrick Hybner.
She was born on March 23, 1949 in Shiner, to the late Edwin and Mary Agnes (Hybner) Barcak.
Most of her friends called her “Pat” and knew her for her dedication to her goals and values in life. She was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, The Republican Women of Yoakum, KJZT and most of all, saving the stray animals in despair. She was a veterinarian assistant and used her skills and love to help all those animals she encountered. She spent her life trying to make our world “a better place to live”
Survivors are her beloved husband of 54 years, Rick “R.W.” Brown of Shiner; son, Richard “Dicky” Brown of Gatesville; three grandchildren, Katelyn Brown, Brooke Brown and Wesley Brown; sister, Silka Janak of Hallettsville; and brothers, James Barcak of Aransas Pass, Larry Burton of Aransas Pass, Wayne Burton of Corpus Christi and Virgil Burton of Odom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Sonny Burton.
