Claro Fernandez Guerra
Claro Fernandez Guerra, age 88, passed away Oct. 15.
He was born in Victoria County on Aug. 12, 1934 to Gregorio and Maria Fernandez Guerra.
He was a hard worker and a Catholic. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, wood working, and gardening.
Survivors include his daughters, Sylvia Martinez and Norma Olivares (Jaime); son, Remijio Reuben Guerra (Rhonda); eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Inez Gonzales, Olga Valdez (Juan) and Anita Moroney (Rob); step-sons, Rene Luera (Ellie), Fernando Luera and Noel Luera (Lisa); 15 step-grandchildren, 18 step-great grandchildren, and eight step great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Guadalupe Vela Guerra; and sister, Lupe Carlos.
A funeral was held at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. The burial will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery.
