Robert J. Zissa

Robert Joe Zissa, 71, of Yoakum, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 4 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be recited at 9:15 a.m. with Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating.
Pallbearers are Charles Shelton, Albert Shelton, Brian Frazer, Brian Kurtz, Zachary Mott, Travis Cleaver, Daniel Vahalik and Danny Hartl.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, Yoakum.
He was born on September 17, 1951 in Yoakum, to Joe and Lucile Hybner Zissa.
He was a mechanic, carpenter and jack-of-all trades. He enjoyed working on old cars, taking stuff apart to see how it works, working at Poco Pipe, relaxing at the Ponderosa in the evenings watching old western movies and eating at IHOP.
Survivors include his companion of 29 years, Gail Allen; children, Robert Joe “Robbie” Zissa Jr (Jeanette), Jason Zissa (Marsha), Joshua Zissa  (Venessa), Coni Jenkins, Veronica “Roni” Bader (Scott), Joey Kurtz (Tracy), Charles Shelton, Kim Shelton, Albert Shelton, Jackie Hurley (Ashley) and Lottie Ramon; sister, Jolene Graem; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Sue Zissa; and his parents.
