Shiner cross country: Lady Comanches placed No. 14 at state meet
The Shiner Lady Comanches cross-country team scored 284 points and placed No. 14 after running in the 2A girls 3,200-meter race Friday at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock.
Shiner was led by senior Riley Rainosek who placed No. 64 in 14 minutes, 1.8 seconds. This was Rainosek’s fourth appearance in the state meet: she competed as an individual her freshman year before returning her three remaining seasons as part of the state team.
Hayleigh Burns was No. 78 in 14:14.3; Brinley Ramirez was No. 98 in 14:31.2; Callie Chrismon was No. 100 in 14:31.5; Erin Pustka finished in 14:49.6 for No. 118; Ameila Pohler was No. 141 in 15:56.7 and Molly Kollaus was No. 150 in 16:42.9.
The Lady Comanches lose runners Rainosek and Kollaus as well as team managers Lily Gipson and Megan Winkenwerder to graduation.
