Lavaca County candidates run unopposed
While official results from state and federal races had not been tallied, local Lavaca County races were all but finalized as every county office on the ballot featured strictly Republican Party candidates for the Nov. 8 General Election.
The lone Lavaca County Judge candidate, Republican Keith Mudd, said he looks forward to returning to his seat on the Commissioners Court with many of the same elected officials he worked with in 2020.
“When I left in 2020, I never really left. I stayed connected with all the officials, and we've just been in touch ever since,” said Mudd. “It's a good group of working professionals that understand Lavaca County, they live in Lavaca County and they are from Lavaca County. They understand what is at stake and what needs to be done.”
Mudd said he looked forward to the next four years as Lavaca County Judge and thanked voters for participating in the primary and general elections.
“It just means a whole lot to have the turnout to get (federal and state officials) elected,” said Mudd. “Showing that the rural vote counts and we have to keep (promoting a high) voter turnout to combat the cities/metro areas to get our state legislators elected.“
