Edward J. Hajek

Edward James Hajek, 87, of Edna, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Visitation began at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 22, with a Memorial service following at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Edna.

He was born on January 16, 1935, in Praha, to the late Edward Emil and Janie Vana Hajek.
Eddie was the proprietor of Eddie’s Barber and Beauty Salon for 48 ½ years in downtown Edna. He also served as President of Texana Days, a member of the Edna Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Jaycees. Eddie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Wilma Rasmussen Hajek; sons, Dexter James Hajek (Diane) of Alice and Michael Anthony Hajek (Melissa) of Hallettsville; daughters, Gretchen Zbranek Dodds (Craig) and Laya Zbranek Clowers (Shane), both of Edna; sister, Betty Lou Novak (Hank) of Shiner; brother, Robert Hajek of Victoria; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Robert Patek Sr. of Shiner.
