Yoakum girls soccer: Lady Bulldog tournament Jan. 5-7

The 1st Annual Lady Bulldog Soccer Tournament will be held Jan. 5-7 at Yoakum High School Stadium (804 Tozik St.).
Matches will consist of 25-minute halves with a five-minute halftime. Pool play will take place Thursday and Friday morning. These games will go by the point system: Win=6, tie=3, loss= 0. Friday afternoon will begin bracket play. If there is a tie during bracket play, shootouts will take place.
Matches will start on time. There will be a maximum of 5-minute grace period from the scheduled kick-off time. After 5 minutes, the match will be declared a forfeit.
The first team listed will be the home team, will wear dark uniforms, and provide the 3 game balls used for the match.
Both teams need to bring their own water bottles and towels. We will provide water jugs for each side.
Jan 5 — Pool A: Hallettsville vs Smithville, 8:30 a.m; Yoakum vs El Campo, 9:30; Hallettsville vs El Campo, 10:30; Yoakum vs Smithville, 11:30. Pool B: Calhoun vs Palacios, 1:30 p.m.; Victoria St. Jose vs Columbus, 2:30; Calhoun vs Columbus, 3:30; Victoria St. Joe vs Palacios, 4:30.
Jan 6 — Pool A: El Campo vs Smithville, 8:30 a.m.; Yoakum vs Hallettsville, 9:30. Pool B: Calhoun vs Victoria St. Joe, 10:30; Palacios vs Columbus, 11:30. Bracket play: 5 vs 7, 1:30 p.m; 1 vs 3, 2:30; 6 vs 8, 3:30; 2 vs 4, 4:30.
Jan 7 — Bracket play: 7th place game, loser of 5/7 vs loser of 6/8, 8:30 a.m.; 5th place game, 5/7 winner vs 6/8 winner, 9:45; 3rd place game, 1/3 loser vs 2/4 loser, 11; Championship game, 1/3 winner vs 2/4 winner, 12:15 p.m.
