Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches beat Louise to cap district play undefeated

Morgan Lenehan canned a dozen points and Calle Sevcik put in 10 points as Shiner completed an undefeated run in district (12-0) with a 51-15 win over Louise Feb. 7.
Shiner opened up a 14-2 lead in the first frame and the teams split 14 points in the second frame, giving the Lady Comanches a 21-9 halftime lead.
Shiner outscored Louise 18-2 in the third square and scored 12 of 16 points in the final period.
The Lady Comanches were scheduled to play Granger in the bi-district round Tuesday of this week.

The Shiner junior varsity team fell at Schulenburg Feb. 3 after the Lady Shorthorns rallied from a 15-11 deficit with a 9-4 run in the fourth quarter.
Shiner led 4-1 after the opening quarter and led 11-8 at the halftime. The Lady Comanches scored four of seven points in the third quarter.
Shiner finishes the season with a 13-3 record and 4-2 mark in district.
JaMya Wright scored 12 points for Shiner and Brinley Ramirez added seven points.
