Richard ‘Dickie’ Henneke

Oct. 8, 1931 – Feb. 11, 2023

Richard Henneke, 91, of Hallettsville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023.  

He was born Oct. 8, 1931, to Fred and Hattie Henneke. 

 He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville and the Knights of Columbus, Council 2433.

Richard married Dorothy Galetka on Nov.  25, 1954  in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville, and together they raised eight children.  Family meant the world to him, and he loved to watch it grow.  

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Dorothy; their eight children: Janice Korinek, Karen Chaloupka (Patrick), Anthony Henneke, Glenda Tobola (David), Clinton Henneke, Gilbert Henneke (Carol), Rhonda Brown (Stanley) and Sheila Jansky (Dennis); 22 grandchildren; Kevin (Julie), Westin (Brooklyn), and Derek Korinek, Rodney (Lydea) Chaloupka; Tracy (Josh) Booker, Kelly (Kirk) Jeffers, Jeffery (Heather), Ryan (Janna), and Scott (Megan) Tobola, Frederick, Elizabeth, James, Mary and Paul Henneke, Justin (Madeline) Brown, Jenna (Cade) Brewer, Julie (Austin) Hannah, Jared and Jilllian Brown, Stephen (Casey), Kendall (Brynna) and Braden Jansky; 18 great-grandchildren, and one step; Kevin, Jr., Case, Jaxson, Carver and Keller Korinek, Claire Chaloupka, Jenson and Kelsea Booker, Hayden, Kaleb and Hattie Jeffers, Jarrett, Shelby, Gage, and Corbin Tobola, Bowen and Barrett Brewer, Blair Hannah and Braighlynn Jansky; -One sibling; Kenneth Henneke (Annie Mae) and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Jr.; sister, Thelma Mikulenka, and son-in-law, John Korinek.

The family would like to thank Stevens Nursing and Rehab and Hospice of South Texas for their care.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville. Msgr. John Peters officiated.

Burial followed in  Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

 Pallbearers included grandsons: Kevin Korinek, Rodney Chaloupka, Jeffery Tobola, Frederick Henneke, Justin Brown, and Stephen Jansky  

Honorary pallbearers were all grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville, Hospice of South Texas or charity of donor’s choice.
