Bryan Petras

Bryan Ray Petras, 50, of Yoakum, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023.
He was born October 6, 1972 in Shiner, to Clement and Betty (Roznovsky) Petras.
Bryan was a blessed man, having conquered leukemia twice; once as a young boy then 17 years later, after which achieving greatness with his kindness and helping heart for everyone he met. He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1991 and went on to A&M, San Antonio branch.
He worked 20 years with GVEC and the last five years with Parker Lumber. He was gifted in woodworking, with a passion for deer hunting, making great sausage, and enjoying nature. With his great work ethic and strong family values he always looked forward to family celebrations and attending his kids sporting events.
He was a faithful member of Yoakum Church of Christ and served his Lord as a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend to many.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Kelly (Barton) Petras of Yoakum; daughter, Bailey Petras; sons, Ty Petras and Ray Petras; parents, Clement and Betty Petras of Gonzales; brothers, Clinton Petras (Nancy) and Dwayne Petras (Kaylin) both of Gonzales; Kelly’s parents, Eddie and Judy Callender of Gonzales; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and father-in-law, James Barton.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m., with funeral service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 9 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, with Terry Starling officiating.
Burial following at Stonewall Cemetery in Gonzales.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Yoakum Church of Christ or Florida College FBO Bailey Petras.
