JAMBOREE:It’s almost that time again... Moulton Gearing Up for July 29-30
The Moulton Jamboree kicks off Saturday, July 29 and will last til Sunday, July 30. There will be tournaments and fun activities for the whole family.
Entry forms for the Bar B Q Cookoff is out now for those wishing to register. The due date for registration is July 17. Registration for chicken, pork ribs, or brisket is $50, or people can sign up for all three meats with the price of $130. Chili and beans are $20 each. Those registering can make checks to the chamber of commerce or can Venmo @MoultonChamber with writing BBQ in the description. Cookoff awards will be announced Sunday, July 30.
The Moulton Royalty Pageant will be at 6 p.m.. Sunday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall as well. Admission is $5. All contestants must provide a $40 sponsor fee. Those in grades 10th to 12th will compete Miss Moulton Royalty for a chance to win $1,000. For a $300 cash prize, those in grades 77th to 9th compete for Junior Miss Moulton. Young Miss Moulton is 4th grade to 6th grade and they will get a chance to win $2000. Little Miss Moulton and Little Mister is from Kindergarten to 3rd grade with a chance to win $150. All participating must be a Moulton ISD student.
Citizens of Moulton can participate in various tournaments from cornhole to softball. And of course, the pie auction is always a big hit. There will be a truck and car show where those interested can show off their vehicles with style. There’s even a tractor show and one of the more organized shows of that latter group around.
A grand parade will kick off the Jamboree and plenty of food vendors as well as arts and crafts vendors throughout the event. For the kids, there will be plenty of arts and crafts table, bouncy houses, water slides and more.
