DeWitt County renews inmate health services agreement, sets budget hearing
DeWitt County Commissioner’s Court renewed the Inmate Health Services agreement between Southern Health Partners and DeWitt County beginning Oct. 1 at their July 10 meeting.
Cost of renewal saw a 4% increase over last year’s numbers and comes at a cost of $230,189.40 annually, or $19,182.45 per month. It will cover the county for 12-month period from October 2023 to September 2024.
Commissioners also scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, July 18, on the proposed budget of the DeWitt County Appraisal District.
“It’s an important budget because all the taxing jurisdictions in the county share in the cost and expense of running that state organization,” said Judge Daryl Fowler. “The proposed budget this year appears to only be going up by $18,000 which is pretty incredible."
County Treasurer Carol Ann Martin submitted her resignation to the county. Appointed in her stead is Desirae Pothgaribay, who was approved by the court on Monday.
