Shiner cross country: Lady Comanches take second at Schulenburg meet
The Shiner cross-country teams ran in the Schulenburg on Thursday with the varsity girls earning a team Silver.
Varsity Girls
The Lady Comanches came in second place with 101 points.
Hayleigh Burns was Shiner’s top finisher with fourth place in 14 minutes, 17 seconds.
Emma Joslin was No. 14 with 14:51; Erin Pustka was No. 21 in 15:31; Callie Chrismon recorded a 15:52 for No. 26.
Jo Caka was No. 36 in 16:20; Eve Roberts was No. 39 in 16:30; Megan Burns was No. 69 in 20:35.
Varsity Boys
Boe Boehm led with a No. 17 finish in 20:34. Kade Matula was No. 44 in 23:50;
JH Girls
Shiner was third with 127 points.
Alena Winkenwerder was No. 16 in 16:46; Chloe Matula was No. 19 in 17:13; Marie Johnson was No. 26 in 18:10; Jewel Caka was No. 31 in 18:25.
Stella Clifford was No. 35 in 19:03; Mallory Johnson was No. 38 in 19:07; Tatam Carson placed No. 43 in 19:26; Ashlyn Quallas was No. 57 in 21:01, followed by Justice Bedford in 21:25.
JH Boys
Shiner scored 87 points to take runner up.
Brody Popp was third in 13:04; Carson Christensen was seventh in 13:48; Collin Wallace was clocked out 14:56 for No. 24; Joshua Leon checked in at 15:02 for No. 26. Hunter Hopkins finished in 15:23 for No. 28. Colby Nichols was No. 36 in 16:01.
