Reta East

Reta East (ORetabelle Mary Goodrich, Connor, East), 102 years old, of Hallettsville, passed away peacefully at her residence at the Hallettsville Rehab and Nursing Home on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023.

Reta was born on July 30, 1921 in Sour Lake, to Arthur Butler Goodrich and Marie Benoit Goodrich, on July 30, 1921.  

On May 1, 1946, Reta married her best friend, Framan Raman East, in Sulphur, LA.  

Reta is survived by one son; one  daughter, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation began at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville.

Funeral Mass Service was celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. John Affum officiated. 

Burial followed in the Speaks Cemetery. 

Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
