LB Drop 2 District Matches
YOAKUM – “What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.”
The Lady Brahmas are hoping so after a 25- 8, 25-9, 25-10 whitewashing by the Yoakum Lady Bulldogs in a District 25-AAA match Friday.
Yoakum served 8 aces and were led by jumping Jayana Phillips, who had 10 kills and 22 assists. Sam Adamek chimed in with 8 kills.
Yoakum led 12-7 in the first set before finishing with 13 unanswered points. Ella Amsden scored four of the points with kills.
The closest LB got in the second set was 14-7 before an 11-2 run closed out the set at 25-9.
Big rallies again by Yoakum won the third set 25-10.
Yoakum moved to 19-8 and 3-0.

Despite a 3-0 loss to No. 2 ranked Columbus, coach Christina Halata called the match “The best we have played all year.” The match was here Tuesday, September 12.
“We knew we had nothing to lose and played relaxed. Proud of fight against a solid team,” Halata added.
The highlight for the LB was a double-double by senior outside Ella Amsden, who had 10 kills and 10 digs.
