Lady Brahmas Win, Lose

After a district win over Palacios, the Lady Brahmas took a step back in losing to Vanderbilt Industrial, 25-23, 25-13, 25-14 here Friday.

The LB hung around early in all three sets before Industrial dominated.

After four ties in the first set, the Cobras went on a 16-4 run to pull away.

Set No. 2 there were four ties. The Cobras took a 10-5 advantage prior to Hallettsville scoring four unanswered points on two hitting errors, a service miscue and a kill by Kasey Harper. But a 7-1 surge by Industrial put the set away.

The teams were tied at 3-all in the third set, but once again the Cobras left Hallettsville in the dark.

The LB had 20 errors in the match and had just 12 kills.

Hallettsville registered is first 25-AAA win in Palacios Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Three players had a double-double in the match - Ella Amsden, Anna Steffek and Alaina Halata. Amsden had 20 kills and 18 digs and Halata 20 assists and Steffek 23 assists and 12 digs.

LB served 12 aces and had 47 kills.
