Hannah Bordovsky named new YACC president
The Yoakum Area Chamber of Commerce (YACC) recently announced its new president, Hannah Bordovsky.
Bordovsky assumed the position on Monday, Oct. 16, and is looking forward to the new opportunity.
“I am ecstatic to be here. I grew up here and graduated from Yoakum High School in 2015. I am really excited to see what we can add to the community,” Bordovsky said.
“There is a lot to do here in Yoakum and a lot to get to know,” she said. “I really want to bring our local history back to life here in Yoakum. The downtown scene here is awesome. I think we can build that a little bit better to bring out-of towners in, while getting our community and businesses more involved.”
Bordovsky graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences from Texas A&M University-College Station.
She is the daughter of Carl and Debbie Bordovsky of Yoakum.
“My (degree) encompasses a lot including youth development, parks and conservation, and my favorite— professional event management,” Bordovsky said. “I have held some incredible positions over the years and feel as though it has all led up to this point. Currently, I am learning lots from the previous YACC President, Sharla Pohl. The job has been wonderful thus far. Yoakum has been very supportive and that means the world.”
