Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches win season opener

Morgan Lenehan scored 13 points and hit a triple as Shiner Lady Comanches posted a 33-22 win over East Bernard on the road Thursday to start the 2023-24 season.
East Bernard took a 10-6 lead at the end of the first frame and the Lady Comanches scored six of 11 points in the second quarter to get within 15-12 at halftime.
Shiner outscored the Brahamettes 16-2 in the third quarter and each team netted five points in the fourth box.
Lenehan had four rebounds; Addy Siegel had two rebounds, one steal, one assist.
Kailey Boedeker added six rebounds, one steal.
 Rylee Vancura produced one rebound, one steal, one assist; Brinley Ramirez tallied three rebounds, two steals.
 Aimee Mitchon chipped in two rebounds, two steals, one assist.
 Callie Sevcik had six assists, three rebounds, two steals; Amelia Pohler had five steals, one rebound, one assist.

Lexi Boner scored 10 points as the Lady Comanches junior varsity fell to East Bernard on the road 55-15 on Thursday. Evy Johnson scored four points and A’Journee Kuykendall bagged one point.
