Bid awarded for back parking lot

A bid was awarded for electrical and lighting for the parking lot east of Hallettsville High School at the regular meeting of the HISD Board of Trustees Monday.

Weaver & Jacobs Constructors, Inc. received the bid.

The bid for the parking lot and footings was $62,650.

Some the work includes $1,537 for the trench and conduit, $4,495 for PVC conduit in the trench and $3,436 for wire.

James Fenner was appointed as the district’s representative on the Lavaca County Central Appraisal District board.

Fenner’s two-year term will run from January 1, 2024 until December 31, 2025.

Financial report

• The district has collected 10.05% of the 2023 taxes.

• 3.45% of local revenue has been collected.

• The General Operating fund balance at the end of October was $739,124.84.

• The board okayed payment of bills totaling $586,876.66.

• The General Operating Money Market account was at $8.6 million. The account gained $31,272.51 in interest last month.
