Lady Brahmas bounce back
PORT LAVACA – Following a loss to Shiner on Monday, the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas defeated Port Lavaca Calhoun, 60-32, Tuesday, November 21.
The LB (8-1) took control early with a 17-9 first quarter lead behind 8 points by post Macy Herring.
The halftime score was 31-21, Hallettsville, and the LB distanced themselves from the Lady Sandcrabs with 16-7 third period.
Herring poured in a gamehigh 19 points and Alaina Halata was also in double figures with 11 points.

The Lady Comanches finished the game with a 13-7 run and took a 42-34 victory here Monday, November 20.
The LB, who were coming off the seven game tournament championship just two days earlier, had to play catch-up the entire game. Shiner (3-0) led 11-4 at the first break and 20-12 at the half.
The LB didn’t make much progress in the third period and still trailed, 29-23.
Baskets by Kasey Harper and Adalyn Pohl cut the lead to 28-27 before Shiner scored 6 unanswered points, getting some big free throws from Amalia Pohler, Callie Sevcik, Addie Siegel and Rylee Vancura.
Vancura led all scorers with 11 points and Herring had 11 for the LB.
