YHS StuCo receives grant for campus beautification project

The Kluck Foundation, Inc. recently presented a grant of $10,000 to the Yoakum High School Student Council’s project “Bulldog Beautification.” This will help towards enhancing the school community by increasing school pride, encouraging excellence, and cultivating a more vibrant and supportive educational atmosphere for the Yoakum High School. The Student Council will be doing the labor with guidance from experts in the field and maintaining the areas through the Energy and Environment Committee.

The Kluck Foundation presented a grant of $5,000 to the Oak Grove Cemetery to help make repairs to the pavilion.

The Kluck Foundation presented a grant of $13,361.73 to the DeWitt-Lavaca Special Education Cooperative to purchase a Plusoptix Vision Screener and Welch Allyn OAE Hearing Screener and Printer to provide better health services to many students with multiple disabilities from age three to 22 with special needs in DeWitt and Lavaca counties. With the equipment staff will be able to screen students in a more appropriate manner based on the needs and abilities of the students.
