Lavaca County police officials responded to a couple of incidents that happened New Year’s Eve.

The first incident was a stabbing and happened on CR 95D. The suspect ended up fleeing the scene and the victim denied knowing who the suspect was and was uncooperative in the investigation.

The victim was then transported to San Antonio for his injuries.

“The stabbing is still under investigation so I can’t release much information,” Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said. “However, I can tell you that the victim is (now) cooperating and we have identified the suspect.”

The other incident happened after midnight at 411 S Lavaca St.. An individual wearing a black hoodie was held at gunpoint by a resident.

The subject then fled on foot and later broke into the Barron home just outside the city limits, allegedly stealing 8 of his guns.

“The prowler call started in the City of Moulton,” Harmon said. “The missing guns turned out to be located in various locations on the complainant’s property, including inside the residence. It could be confusion between family members as to where the guns were stored.”
