St Paul gains tie for first place
The Sacred Heart Indianettes suffered their first TAPPS District 5 Division loss to St. Paul, 38-36, in the SH Gym Monday night.
Missed free throws and turnovers were to blame for the loss. The Indianettes were a mere 7 of 27 from the free-throw line and the teams combined for 50 turnovers.
There were 6 ties and 6 lead changes in the game.
SP led 36-32 after a basket by Riley Mozisek. Two free throws by Allison Clark with 1:20 to play whittled the margin to 36-34, before Mozisek came up big on the other end with two clutch free throws for a 38-34 advantage. Ava Lackey scored from underneath for SH for the final two-point margin.
The Lady Cardinals made 10 of 15 free throw attempts.
Lackey scored over half of team’s points with 20. Brooke Cerny led SP with 10 points.
SH and SP will meet again Thursday in Shiner to decide the district title.
SH 43, Concordia 22
The Sacred Heart Indianettes forced 12 turnovers in the first period and went on to a 43-22 victory over Pflugerville Concordia on Senior Night here Friday
The win keeps the Indianettes undefeated in district.
SH held the Cardinals scoreless in the first quarter for an 11-0 lead.
Heather Wilson was the only SH player in double figures with 15 points with 3 threes.

The Indianettes took care of Bracken Christian School on the road Tuesday, Jan. 30
The Indianettes led 16-2 at the end of the first quarter and 29-14 at the half. SH stretched the lead to 30-18 going into the fourth period.
Aleigh Kraatz scored 10 points to lead the Indianettes.

The Indianettes made their annual trip to the AT&T Center in San Antonio with 38-16 beating of New Braunfels Christian Saturday, Jan. 27.
The Indianettes led 11-2 at the first break and 22-6 at the half.
Heather Wilson scored 10 points with a pair of threes.
