Bulldogs hold off Rice 68-64

    Yoakum wrapped up second place in district with a 68-64 win over Rice Consolidated Friday at home.

    The Blue Raiders took a 15-9 lead in the first quarter and Yoakum came back with a 23-10 run for a 32-25 halftime lead.

    The Bulldogs took control in the third quarter with 15 of 20 points for a 47-30 lead, which allowed Yoakum to endure a Rice rally of 34-21 scoring run in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs had four players score in double digits led by Jamar Hopkins who scored 20 points and six triples; X’Zavier Barnett added 17 points, Gage Harrison sank 13 points and Zach Taylor chipped in 11 points.
