Shiner boys basketball: Shiner boys close out regular season with a pair of victories

The Shiner boys had a fantastic first half in their last regular-season district game in a 59-47 win over Ganado Feb. 9 at home.
Shiner took a 17-10 lead in the first quarter and outscored the Indians 18-10 in the second box for a 35-20 halftime lead.
Ganado cut into the lead with a 15-9 run in the third quarter and the Comanches rebounded with a 15-12 scoring advantage in the fourth period.
Carson Schuette hit a pair of treys and wrote down 17 points, and Jared Werner scored in double digits as he put in 12 points. Bryce Ullman led the Indians with 15 points.

Schuette descended in 32 points and three tres while Bode Werner totaled 15 points in the Comanches 72-46 win at Bellville Faith Academy on Feb. 13. Shiner took a 15-11 lead over the Knights in the first frame and led 30-21 at halftime before a 24-8 run in the third frame and outscoring Faith Academy 18-17 in the fourth period.
Josh Stark downed 13 points to lead the Knights.
Shiner opened the playoffs with Thorndale Tuesday in Giddings.
