Lions’ ‘Flags Over Hallettsville’ makes its first rounds of 2024
For the past few years, the Hallettsville Lions Club has undertaken a project called “Flags Over Hallettsville.”
The project involves the club taking subscriptions from Hallettsville residents to have a U.S. flag displayed in their yards on four patriotic holidays throughout the year: President’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4 and Veteran’s Day.
Club members go to the subscriber’s residence and place a flag in their yard. Following the date of the patriotic day, the Lions then pick up the flags and redistribute them the next date.
The club places more than 70 flags in the Hallettsville area.
