Annual State Championship Domino Tournament set for Friday, Saturday
The annual 42 State Championship Domino Tournament will take place Friday and Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.
On Friday, warm-up games will be played with registration starting at 5 p.m. Warm-up games will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Also on Friday evening, the Hallettsville Knights of Columbus Council 2433 will be preparing a fried fish dinner with trimmings meal for $14 a plate.
Serving in the hall will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. for both dine-in and plates-to-go.
On Saturday, registration for the tournament begins at 7:00 a.m. and no registration will be accepted after 8:15 a.m. Qualifying rounds will begin start at 8:30 a.m.
Championship and consolation play is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and the finals are expected around 9 p.m.
The fee to compete in the tournament is $50 per team and trophies as well as cash prizes will be awarded at the tournament.
Also on Saturday, a lunch meal will be offered consisting of grilled chicken, BBQ sauce, twice baked potatoes, green beans, salad, roll, and dessert for $13 per plate.
Dine-in and plates-to-go will be available and tickets can be purchased at the Hallettsville Chamber of Commerce office or from any Hallettsville Royal Court member.
The bar will be open for purchase of drinks and snacks and absolutely no coolers or glass containers will be allowed in the hall.
