Moulton softball:Kittens softball fall in battles with Ganado, Schulenburg

The Moulton Kittens fell to Ganado and Schulenburg in district games last week.
Ganado 16, Moulton 6
Ganado outscored the Kittens 6-0 in the second frame and 4-1 in the sixth inning to dispatch Moulton 16-6 on March 5.
The score was 1-1 after one inning and the Maidens took an 8-1 lead after three squares.
The Kittens cut the deficit to 9-5 after five innings but Ganado outscored them 3-0 in the fifth.
Addison Simper was Moulton’s top hitter going 3-for-4, run and two RBI.
Bethany Kram pitched five innings with 12 runs on 11 hits, six walks and three strikeouts; Simper worked 2/3 innings in relief with two hits, four runs and four walks.
In the field, Katie Richter had 11 putouts.

Schulenburg held the Kittens to two hits and a shutout in a 10-0 win on Friday.
The Lady Shorthorns led 1-0 after two innings, scored six in the third frame and three more in the fourth.
Araceli Vasquez and Kenzie Dvorak had one hit each.
Kram pitched four innings, 10 runs on 13 hits, three walks and four strikeouts.
Richter and Karsyn Blahuta each had two putouts.
