SH golf team advance to state

The Sacred Heart Indians and Indianettes advanced to the TAPPS state tournament as a result of their play in district at The Golf Club at Texas A&M Tuesday, April 2.

The Indianettes had a second place finish with a team total of 443. St. Paul won the title with a 426.

Maryn Machac led SH with a 94 and was the second place individual, Kenzie Chance eighth medalist and shot a 105, Mabry Machac 121, Anneliese Noska 123 and Annika Brooks 123.

Avery Beach played as a medalist qualified for state with a 110 as did Mallory Mueller with a 115.

The Indians were third with a total of 357. Bryan Allen Academy was first (319) and Spring Providence Classical was second (354).

James Cesarz was the third top individual with 75. Allen Academy’s Jackson Funkhouser shot a one-under-par 70.

Lance Barton carded a 92, Klayton Chance 93, Sam Bludau 97 and Brock Hermes 97.

The top four finishers advance to the State Tournament at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course in Waco April 15-16.
