TDEM Conference set for May 28-31

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) will hold its convention on May 28 through 31 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

Nominations to honor first responders who have passed away in the last year are being requested and will be displayed in a memorial at Conference.

The First Responder Memorial honors the life and service of first responders across emergency management, fire and rescue, law enforcement, emergency medical services (EMS), and public health, who have passed away.

“Pausing to reflect on the contributions of those who dedicated their lives to protecting our communities is an important component of the Texas Emergency Management Conference,” TDEM chief Nim Kidd said. “We hope Texans will join us in honoring these dedicated individuals in this powerful display as we pay our respects to our friends and colleagues from across the state who have passed on.”

To honor a first responder at The Conference, please submit information at tdem.texas.gov/conference. Submissions will be accepted through April 30.

The Conference attracts over 3,500 elected officials, first responders, emergency managers, and decision makers from across the Lone Star State and the United States.
