Edwin Pavlicek

Edwin Frank Pavlicek, 79, of Moulton, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024.  At the time of his death, he was residing at Shiner Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Shiner, to Joe F. and Agnes (Krametbauer) Pavlicek. He spent his entire life on the family farm in Moulton, except for the last five years, where he resided at Shiner Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Edwin attended St. Joseph Catholic School and then Moulton High School, from which he graduated.  Just like his two older brothers, he enlisted in the Army, but was given an early honorable discharge due to health reasons.  After leaving the army, Edwin was a dutiful son.
He farmed and ranched alongside his father until his father passed away. Edwin and his father, Joe, were seen several times a week at one of the nearby church bingo games. Edwin, as chauffeur, would often drive Joe and several of the Moulton widows to bingo, picnics, or domino games.
Edwin loved to watch baseball games—Astros or Rangers!  He was also fond of watching the news.  When he got cable TV in the nursing home, he really enjoyed watching CNN and FOX news.  He also enjoyed talking and arguing with his oldest brother Daniel on the phone every day.  But anyone who knew Edwin, knew his favorite thing was hamburgers!  He would order a hamburger almost everyday from the Dairy Treat, and later from the Moulton/Patek grocery store meat department.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Connie Pavlicek and Kay Pavlicek; niece, Gina (Ben) Killmer; and nephews and nieces Caleb, Nathan, Madison, Cora Killmer; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Daniel (Connie) Pavlicek and Kenward “O.D.” (Kay) Pavlicek.
The family would like to thank the Shiner Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Crown Hospice for the care that he received.
